The Palestinian Forum in Britain is calling on our community and friends across Britain to stand together in support of the Al-Khawas family following the devastating tragedy off the coast of Sussex.
Hussam Al-Khawas, his wife Zeina Alyan, and their daughter Sarah tragically lost their lives after the family got into difficulty in the sea. Their surviving young daughter was taken to hospital following the incident.
This tragedy has left a family grieving and facing circumstances no family should have to endure alone.
A community standing together
A fundraising campaign has been established to provide practical support to Hussam’s family at this extraordinarily difficult time.
Funds raised will help with repatriation and funeral arrangements in Lebanon, as well as supporting the care, welfare and future educational needs of the surviving child.
For the Palestinian community in Britain, solidarity means being there for one another not only in words, but through action. We therefore encourage everyone who is able to contribute, regardless of the amount.
