The Palestinian Forum in Britain unequivocally condemns U.S. President Donald Trump’s shocking and dangerous statements, in which he openly called for the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and for the United States to ‘take over’ the Gaza Strip. Trump’s remarks, made alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, propose a blatant act of ethnic cleansing—suggesting that Palestinians should be removed from their homeland and scattered across neighbouring countries, while Gaza itself is repurposed for ‘the world’s people’. This represents not only a grotesque violation of international law but an outright endorsement of war crimes and crimes against humanity under the Geneva Conventions and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC). It also underscores the U.S. government’s longstanding complicity in supporting Israel’s occupation of Palestine and genocide in Gaza.
Trump’s rhetoric aligns with the extremist Zionist agenda that seeks to erase Palestinian identity and sovereignty. His call for the mass expulsion of Gaza’s population—under the guise of ‘redevelopment’—is nothing short of a genocidal proposal that disregards the fundamental principles of human rights and international law. Labelling Gaza as a ‘symbol of death and destruction’ and suggesting that its people only wish to return because they have nowhere else to go exposes his utter contempt for Palestinian existence.
On behalf of the Palestinian community in Britain, steadfast in its commitment to justice, and in solidarity with all those who believe in human dignity, we categorically reject Trump’s criminal and racist rhetoric. The Gaza Strip is an inseparable part of historic Palestine, and its residents are the rightful indigenous population. They are entitled to inalienable rights, including the right to live in dignity, security, and peace on their land—free from threats of extermination or forced displacement.
A call to Action for the British Government
In light of Trump’s remarks, we urge the British government to take the following immediate actions:
- Issue a strong and unequivocal official statement condemning these remarks and reaffirming the UK’s commitment to international law and human rights.
- Exert immediate pressure on the U.S. administration to retract these dangerous statements and warn of the grave consequences they entail.
- Support the Palestinian cause in international forums and strengthen diplomatic efforts to safeguard the Palestinian people against any aggression or existential threats.
- Impose diplomatic and economic sanctions on any entity that endorses or promotes such racist and aggressive rhetoric.
An urgent Appeal to the International Community
We further call upon the international community—particularly the United Nations, the International Criminal Court, and global human rights organisations—to take the following measures:
- Act urgently to prevent any plans aimed at the forced displacement of Palestinians or the violation of their fundamental rights.
- Initiate international investigations into these statements, recognising them as explicit incitement to war crimes.
- Ensure international protection for the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank, and prevent any attempts to establish control by force.
A call to the Palestinian and Arab Diaspora, and Global Advocates for Justice
Additionally, we urge Palestinians, Arabs, and the Palestinian and Arab diasporas in Britain, as well as all people of conscience worldwide, to take the following steps:
- Launch extensive media and international campaigns to expose these racist statements and reveal the aggressive plans targeting the Palestinian people.
- Engage with British parliamentarians and policymakers to encourage them to issue strong statements of condemnation and adopt clear political positions against these remarks.
- File urgent legal complaints in international courts against any entity that advocates for the violation of Palestinian rights or threatens their existence.
- Enhance cultural and political activism in British universities and institutions to bolster support for the Palestinian cause and expose Israel’s racist policies.
- Organise peaceful protests and demonstrations across British and international cities to express global opposition to these statements and hostile schemes.
Our Commitment to Resistance and Justice
In conclusion, the Palestinian Forum in Britain affirms that the Palestinian people will not allow anyone to infringe on their rights or threaten their existence, and that any attempt to impose control by force on the Gaza Strip or displace its population will be met with unprecedented popular, political and legal resistance. The Palestinian people will not allow a repeat of the crimes of displacement they suffered in, and since, the Nakba of 1948.
As Palestinians across the world, we will remain unwavering in our commitment to the enduring principles of our national cause. Our people in the occupied territories will continue to stand firm on their land, and together, we will persist in our struggle until Palestine achieves freedom, justice, and full independence.
