On 8 October 2025, communities across the United Kingdom will gather in solemn remembrance to mark two years since the beginning of the genocide in Gaza. Organised by the Palestinian Forum in Britain (PFB), these vigils will be held simultaneously in London, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, and Cardiff, beginning at 6:00 PM.
For two long years, Gaza has endured relentless bombardment, mass displacement, starvation, and a complete collapse of its healthcare and infrastructure. Tens of thousands of lives have been lost, the majority of them women and children. Families have been torn apart, entire neighbourhoods erased, and an entire generation of Palestinians is being denied the right to live in peace and dignity.
These vigils are a space for collective mourning, solidarity, and resistance. They are an opportunity for people across Britain to stand shoulder to shoulder, light a candle for the martyrs, and demand justice for the victims and survivors.
By gathering in public squares and city centres, we send a clear message: the world cannot remain silent. We will not allow the genocide in Gaza to be normalised or forgotten. We stand with the people of Palestine and demand an end to the violence, accountability for war crimes, and the recognition of Palestinians’ right to live free on their own land.
The Palestinian Forum in Britain invites everyone, regardless of background or faith, to join this important act of remembrance and solidarity. Bring a candle, bring your voice, and stand with us as we honour Gaza’s martyrs and demand justice.
